Frank’s mammoth engines began to slow. Then the engine shut down with a deafening CLANK!

Superman stopped shaking the robot for a moment. The vessel hung limply in Superman’s hands.

Suddenly, an unearthly roar came from the robot. “Owwwwwwww!” the voice said. “That really hurt!”

Superman double-checked with his X-ray vision. There was no one inside the robot. “How could I have hurt you?” asked Superman. “There isn’t anyone inside the robot.”

“Inside?” howled the Supreme Frank. “Inside what! I’m right here in your hands, you big, dumb, dirty animal!”

Superman’s eyes went wide.

“These robots aren’t controlled by aliens,” he said. “They are the aliens. The robots are alive!”
